Jack Smith – Chief Executive Officer
Jack Smith is responsible for securing and furthering Proximex’s leadership margin in PSIM (physical security information management) products and solutions. By aligning with best of breed partners, Proximex continues to expand its role in setting both strategic vision and tactical course for PSIM as a nerve center in every security design. To a company that already boasted a powerhouse engineering team in information technology, Mr. Smith brought additional background to this market, which in many ways is experiencing the challenges that beset information technology fifteen years ago. Mr. Smith is known for his positions as co-founder, inventor and Chief Technology Officer at Hotmail, the first Web-based email service. Hotmail sparked an Internet revolution and, even today, remains the category leader. After Hotmail was sold to Microsoft in 1997, Mr. Smith focused on advanced infrastructure design. Mr. Smith next served as co-founder and CEO of Akamba Corporation where he invented and marketed the first Web server accelerator card that boosted server performance by 300 percent. Prior to founding Hotmail in 1996, Mr. Smith designed integrated circuits for Canon Computer Systems, and worked on Apple Computer’s early PowerBooks.

James A. Barth - Chief Financial Officer As CFO, Mr. Barth is responsible for all financial, legal, contracts and human resources activities of Proximex. Mr. Barth co-founded Proximex and served as its CEO from 2004 to 2007. Mr. Barth has served as an executive officer of technology companies for more than 25 years. Prior to Proximex, Mr. Barth held the positions of senior vice president, finance and administration or chief financial officer for: NetIQ Corporation (NASDAQ: NTIQ); Interlink Computer Sciences (NASDAQ: acquired by Sterling Software); Rational Software Corporation (NASDAQ: acquired by IBM); and Pertec Computer Corporation (NYSE: acquired by Volkswagen). He is currently a director and chairman of the audit committee of Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BCSI). Mr. Barth is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BSBA from UCLA Anderson School of Business.
| Ken Prayoon Cheng – Chief Technology Officer Ken Prayoon Cheng is a co-founder of Proximex, where he manages and drives strategic and engineering activities. Previously Mr. Cheng was CTO of NetIQ Corporation where he was a co-founder. Prior to NetIQ, Mr. Cheng held senior management and technical positions at Compuware Corporation, Ecosystems Software and Fujitsu Limited and holds MS and BS degrees in Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Nagoya University, Japan. Mr. Cheng holds many US and international patents. Mr. Cheng has developed many award winning products such as NetIQ’s AppManager, Compuware’s EcoTools, Fujitsu’s NetWalker (SystemWalker), the Fujitsu Series G workstation, the Fujitsu Computed-Aided-Learning system, and many other leading technology products.

Patrick Reilly - Vice President Worldwide Sales and Business Development Mr. Reilly is responsible for Proximex's worldwide sales and business development efforts and for driving the company's growth within commercial and government markets. He brings nearly 30 years of high-technology sales, marketing and business development experience to Proximex, with more than 20 years at the executive level. Mr. Reilly has led a number organizations with products and services that address the converged market of physical security and IT, including Director of Sales Business Development for Cisco’s Emerging Technology Group and Vice President of Sales for BroadWare, a physical security video management software company. Mr. Reilly has also held executive positions in companies addressing IT security. Specifically, he was Vice President of Marketing and Federal Development for CloudShield Technologies, Inc., a provider of high speed, deep-packet inspection platforms and Vice President of World-wide Sales, Marketing, and Business Development for Cylink, Inc., a provider of encryption products. At Cylink, he helped achieve the first profitable quarter in the company's history as a public company and in the acquisition of the company by SafeNet, Inc.
| John Skowronski – Vice President, Business Development Mr. Skowronski is responsible for business development as well as managing key strategic accounts and business partner relationships in the defense and critical infrastructure markets. Mr. Skowronski's security experience spans more than 20 years in the electronic fire and security services industry where he planned, organized and led sales and operations for several leading companies. Most recently, Mr. Skowronski was chief strategy, marketing and sales officer for UTC's North American Security Business unit. Here, he was a member of the groups executive committee. This group managed the acquisition, integration and ongoing P&L responsibility of numerous product, service and monitoring companies throughout the US and Canada. Prior to UTC, Mr. Skowronski held executive roles at Tyco Fire & Security/ADT Security Services in the areas of sales, business development, strategy and general management. His experience includes several years of market development work in the EMEA region. Mr. Skowronski holds a B.S. degree from Frostburg State University.
| Larry Lien - Vice President, Product Management Larry Lien is responsible for Proximex's product definition, strategy and marketing. He has almost 20 years of product management, marketing and business strategy experience delivering successful products and services to the Information Technology and electronic security marketplace. Prior to joining Proximex, Larry worked as Director of Product Management for Micromuse. He has also held management positions at NetIQ, Resonate, Nortel Networks, Intel and Accenture. Larry received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and his MBA from the University of Michigan Business School.
| Diane M. Z. Robinette - Vice President, Product Marketing As vice president, product marketing for Proximex, Diane Robinette is responsible for defining product strategy and direction for the company. With more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Robinette has an intimate knowledge of a broad spectrum of technologies that are affecting today’s enterprise security market, such as integration, content and contract management, supply chain and spend management.
Prior to Proximex, Ms. Robinette held senior management positions at BroadVision, Contivo, Covigna, and Perfect Commerce where she successfully defined and launched numerous products into the marketplace. Her background also includes management positions at KPMG Consulting (now Bearing Point) and Ernst & Young (now Capgemini) where she guided her clients with strategic direction and strict methodologies. Ms. Robinette is a regularly invited guest speaker and panelist for many marketing organizations. With an emphasis in hardware and software, Ms. Robinette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
| Scott Dowd - Vice President, Services Scott Dowd is responsible for all customer-facing technical services both pre-sales and post-sales for Proximex. Mr. Dowd has over 20 years of IT industry experience in customer focused solution sales, implementation and support roles. For the last 13 years, Mr. Dowd held management positions with NetIQ, BMC Software, Compuware Corporation and MessageOne - companies focused on integrated IT operations and security command and control, business communications continuity, and enterprise automated communication. In these positions, he created and managed sales support, training, consulting, product specialist and product line sales management teams with regional, national and international responsibilities. Mr. Dowd has supported/directed IT systems and security management command & control implementations in enterprises such as Microsoft Corporation, Boeing Corporation, U.S. Air Force, Wal-Mart, Countrywide Home Loans, Shell, Chevron, Philip Morris International and other Fortune 500 environments. Mr. Dowd holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Mathematics and in Secondary Education from the University of Virginia.
